OOC: Ok, RPing Max for a bit.

Max got up from the bench he was sitting on and he stared down the street. He knew he couldn't stay still or else he would be dead soon. He wasn't sure what had happened, but he knew that it could happen again. He picked up the rusty hatchet he hap picked up. Maybe he sould take it. He slid the handle under his belt and held the steel pipe in his left hand. He bagan to walk down the street, peering through the fog that threatened to block out his vision. Shortly he came to an intersection where the street he was walking on dead-ended into another. He stared at the road signs on the corner. He had been walking down Carrol Street aparently. Something in his gut told him to take a left on what the sign said was Rendell Street. And so he walked on. He passed some houses but they all looked condemned. He tried a few doors but they were all shut tight and there was no answer.
"What happened here...?" Max thought aloud.
There was a noise to his right. He strained his eyes to see through the fog. He heard it again. A skittering sound.
"...Who's there?" Max called out. The skittering stopped then started agian. It grew louder. He knew whatever was making the sound was getting closer. Max nearly gagged when he saw a cockroach, bigger than his head scrambling over to him. Max stepped back and without hesitation, brought the steel pipe down into the creature's back with a sickening crunch. Now Max did gag. He pulled the pipe away and kept moving. He didn't even want to know how a roach could have gotten so huge. Befor long, Max came to another intersection where Rendell Street met Munson Street. He took a left and saw what looked like a cheap motel. He walked furher down and saw the a sign that read "Jack's Inn." He walked to the door and tried the knob. It was unlocked. He stepped inside and surveyed the lobby. Moments later he heard some distant sirens blaring. He looked outside in time to see the dim sky darken to black. He knew it was happening again. He slammed the door behind him and ducked behind the reception counter.
