Simple Bio:
Butch and Cassidy (Kosaburō and Yamato in Japanese) are the rivals of Jesse, James, and Meowth; unlike the trio, however, Butch and Cassidy are successful Rockets and are looked upon favorably by Giovanni; also unlike Jessie and James, they seem to be actually evil. They first appeared in "The Breeding Center Secret" and appear throughout the series semi-regularly as guest stars and regularly as the villains of Pokémon Chronicles the outlaw.
Very little is known about Butch's early life. At one point in time, he was training to become a Rocket member at the same time as Jesse, James, and Cassidy. Cassidy and Butch were assigned together and worked as a team, capturing Pokémon for Team Rocket.
Butch's voice is of particuar interest: his raspy, gravelly voice is reminiscent of the voice of a chainsmoker. Thus
he's roleplayed as such in the Brigade.
Butch has skills typical of most Rockets, including disguise and some physical prowess. He was able to pick up and throw Jesse
into a wall, showing that he is more powerful physically than James.
One running gag is how Butch is often referred to as "Botch" ("Kosanji"
,"Buffy",
"Hutch", "Biff", "Bill", "Bob",or "Butcher" in recent appearances, as Jessie, James, and Meowth (and others
in the Chronicles series) are not familiar with him and often forget his name, leading to a joke in the Chronicles episode "Training
Daze" that after Cassidy forgets his name, calling him "Hutch", Butch replies "That does it, I'm changing my name." Butch gets
even with James (the character who most often mispronounces his name) once by calling him "John." These occurrences strengthen the idea that Jesse
and Cassidy have known one another for many years (as they are very aware of one another), as well as the assumption that Butch and Cassidy were not confidantes before joining Team Rocket.
Brig Chronicles:
Butch's Hypno is named Morpheus. He's a little greener than the yellow they show on the tv screen and usually plays a role in knocking out Elly when he wants to capture her for any reason. He's a good little guy though.
Butch smokes (okay funny thing: the Brig was the first place he started smoking; now even Wikipedia says "many fanfics" say his voice is caused by smoking. LOL.)
